The DMB is an American folk-rock, a native of Charlottesville, Virginia.

The band was formed in 1991 by singer and guitarist Dave Matthews, Leroi Moore, saxophonist, bassist Stefan Lessard, Boyd Tinsley cellist, drummer Carter Beauford, and pianist Peter Griesar (who left the band in 1993). All band members met Dave in Charlottesville. Since 1998, Butch Taylor played keyboards in most concerts the group but is not officially a member of the group. Trumpeter Rashawn Ross accompanied them for the 2005 tour. Beauford, Moore, Tinsley and Taylor are also singers.

Last year, a freak accident, as they said. Taking a break from their North American tour with the Band, LeRoi Moore was a ride all-terrain vehicle on his farm in Virginia occurred when a serious accident where he shot himself alive, but with a lung perforated and fractured ribs. To make up for canceled 2008 and 2009 dates at the USANA Amphitheater in Utah, the band will exhibit a free show at the venue on August 17th. Supporting acts throughout the tour include: Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, The Felice Brothers, Yonder Mountain String Band, Robert Earl Keen, Martin Sexton, Zac Brown Band and many others.

DMB will be pleasing Indianapolis'crowds, like they do every year, at Verizon Wireless Music Center. This summer the band will perform at Indianapolis at June 18th & 19th.The band is a concert that you'll always like, even if Dave doesn't play all the songs you want to hear, just being at Verizon Wireless Music Center with all your friends and the crowds of people makes for an overall amazing environment.
